Terry received his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.  Upon graduation, Terry began his military career with the Third Special Forces Unit in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  Following several other assignments, including an assignment in Vietnam, Terry attended the University of Alabama and received his master’s degree in business administration.  While serving in the Army he received numerous awards including the Defense Meritorious Service medal and the Legion of Merit.  He also received a Certificate of Appreciation from then President of the United States George W. Bush

After spending 23 years as a United States Army officer, he decided to pursue his true passion of helping others achieve their financial goals.  He started his career as a financial advisor in 1992 and joined Robert Thomas Securities in 1998.  He became a Branch Owner of the Raymond James Financial Services Investment Advisors Division in January 1999 and switched to the Raymond James and Associates Investment Consultants Division in May 2020.

Terry is active in the community, serving with the Kiwanis Club of Seminole since 1992.  He is a two-time President of the club, and an active member with such events as Horses for the Handicapped, Every Child a Swimmer, and Service Leadership programs at Seminole schools. He was awarded the Legion of Honor by Kiwanis International in 2018.  Terry is also involved with the Saint Petersburg MOAA (Military Officers Association of America) chapter.  He served as Chapter President for three years and was awarded a Distinguished Member award in 2017 and a Life Member Emeritus award in 2019.
